Samsung Galaxy S24 FE Review: Flagship Features for Less

The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE is a value-focused Galaxy smartphone with a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, Exynos 2400e processor, 8GB RAM, 128GB storage, Galaxy AI, and a 50MP triple-camera system.

It brings many flagship Galaxy features at a lower price than Samsung’s premium S-series models.

Samsung Galaxy S24 FE Specs

Performance

The Exynos 2400e provides strong everyday and gaming performance.

It easily handles:

• Social media
• Multitasking
• Streaming
• Photo editing
• Galaxy AI
• Mobile gaming
• Productivity apps

It is not quite as powerful as Samsung’s higher-end flagship processors, but performance is more than sufficient for most users.

6.7-Inch AMOLED Display

The Galaxy S24 FE features a large 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz.

Samsung lists peak brightness up to 1,900 nits, making the screen easier to see outdoors.

The display is excellent for:

• Gaming
• Netflix and YouTube
• Photos
• Social media
• Web browsing

The 120Hz refresh rate also makes scrolling and animations feel very smooth.

Camera

The Galaxy S24 FE uses a versatile triple-camera system:

50MP Main Camera
12MP Ultra-Wide Camera
8MP Telephoto Camera with 3x Optical Zoom

The front camera is 10MP.

Samsung also supports digital zoom up to 30x.

The inclusion of a true telephoto camera gives the S24 FE an advantage over many mid-range phones.

8K Video

The Galaxy S24 FE supports 8K video recording, giving users more flexibility for high-resolution video capture.

It also includes optical image stabilization on the main camera and Samsung’s ProVisual Engine for image processing.

Galaxy AI

The S24 FE includes many of Samsung’s Galaxy AI tools.

Features include:

• Circle to Search
• Photo Assist
• Generative Edit
• Sketch to Image
• Interpreter
• Live Translate
• Note Assist

Samsung brought many of the same AI features found on the flagship Galaxy S24 series to the FE model.

Battery Life

The Galaxy S24 FE has a 4,700mAh battery.

Samsung rates it for up to 28 hours of wireless video playback under its test conditions.

Independent testing by Tom’s Guide recorded about 11 hours and 25 minutes in its battery test.

The phone supports 25W wired charging and wireless charging.

128GB Storage

This version includes 128GB internal storage and 8GB RAM.

128GB is enough for normal apps, photos and everyday use, but users who record lots of 4K or 8K video may prefer the 256GB version.

There is no microSD card expansion.

Design

The S24 FE measures 8mm thick and weighs 213g.

It also includes Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection on the front and back and an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.

The phone feels closer to Samsung’s flagship models than many traditional mid-range smartphones.

Verdict

The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE is a strong value-focused Android phone for users who want many flagship Samsung features without paying flagship prices.

Its 120Hz AMOLED display, Exynos 2400e processor, dedicated 3x telephoto camera, Galaxy AI and IP68 protection make it a very complete smartphone.

The biggest drawbacks are the 128GB non-expandable storage, relatively slow 25W charging and heavier design.

For buyers who want a large Samsung phone with flagship-style features at a more affordable price, the Galaxy S24 FE remains a strong option.
