The HP Envy x360 2-in-1 14-inch FHD Touchscreen Laptop is a compact convertible designed for users who want one computer that can work as a traditional laptop, presentation device, media screen and oversized Windows tablet.
For this review, the reference configuration is HP’s Envy x360 14-es1097nr / 14-es1000 family, which pairs a 14-inch 1920 × 1080 IPS touchscreen with Intel Core 7 150U, 16GB DDR4 memory and a 1TB NVMe SSD. HP offered multiple Envy x360 14 configurations, so processor and storage can differ between retailer listings.
This particular FHD model should also not be confused with HP’s newer 14-fc0000 Core Ultra version, which moved to 1920 × 1200 WUXGA and optional 2.8K OLED panels.
The Envy x360’s strongest qualities are its premium-feeling convertible design, excellent 5MP webcam, good everyday processor performance, Wi-Fi 7, microSD reader and practical port selection. Its weaknesses are the limited colour gamut of the standard FHD screen, soldered memory and integrated graphics.
And there is important 2026 context: HP has now transitioned the Envy family toward OmniBook X, with HP explicitly describing the OmniBook X Flip as the evolution of the Envy x360. That means the Envy x360 is now most attractive when significantly discounted.

That flexibility is what separates the Envy x360 from a normal HP Pavilion or clamshell notebook.

Bright outdoor environments are more challenging.
The glossy edge-to-edge touchscreen can also reflect light more noticeably than an anti-glare business laptop.
FHD vs Newer Envy OLED
HP’s later Envy x360 14-fc0000 and 14-fa0000 models offered much more impressive 2880 × 1800 OLED touchscreens with variable 48–120Hz refresh rates.
The difference is substantial.
OLED provides:

- higher contrast
- richer colours
- smoother 120Hz motion
- better HDR
- better creative-work potential
If you are buying an Envy specifically for display quality, the newer OLED configuration is clearly superior.

Some current retailer listings use a Core 5 120U instead.
That processor also has 10 cores and 12 threads, but its maximum turbo frequency is 5.0GHz instead of the Core 7 150U’s 5.4GHz.
For everyday use, the difference is relatively modest.

If the price difference is small, we’d choose Core 7.
This Is Not a Core Ultra Laptop
This distinction matters in 2026.
The Core 7 150U is not a Core Ultra processor. Intel lists it under its conventional Core Series 1 family.
Therefore, this model does not have the newer dedicated NPU architecture associated with Intel Core Ultra and modern Copilot+ PCs.
That doesn’t hurt Office or browsing performance.
But buyers specifically looking for strong local AI processing should choose a newer OmniBook X or newer Core Ultra-based Envy instead. HP’s current OmniBook X Flip systems are positioned as Copilot+ PCs and are the current evolution of Envy x360.

RAM Is Onboard

If you buy a 16GB model, that is fine.

Choose Envy x360 if:

Therefore:
At a large discount: good buy.
At almost the same price as an OmniBook X Flip: buy the OmniBook.
Final Verdict
